About Solskirnir
Founded more than ten years ago, Solskirnir is a historical reenactment and living history association well known across the south west of France.
Its members work towards the faithful reconstruction of past societies through the study of historical, archaeological and ethnographic sources.
The association takes part in numerous cultural and heritage events, where it offers educational workshops, craft demonstrations, displays of historical objects and activities for audiences of all ages.
Solskirnir is also the organiser of Les Historiques de Bidache, driven by a commitment to making culture accessible to everyone, promoting local heritage and encouraging the sharing of historical knowledge.
Recognised as an organisation of general cultural interest, the association runs entirely on the commitment of dedicated volunteers.
Les Historiques de Bidache
Les Historiques de Bidache is a free historical reenactment festival held each year on the esplanade of the Château de Gramont in Bidache.
Over two days, more than 150 enthusiasts bring almost two thousand years of history to life, from antiquity to the 20th century, through encampments, demonstrations, workshops, talks and immersive activities.
Run entirely by volunteers, the event draws several thousand visitors and contributes to the promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the inland Basque Country.
Its purpose is to pass on history in a way that is living, rigorous and accessible to all.
Recognised for their quality and ambition, Les Historiques de Bidache continue to grow each year thanks to the support of public and private partners and a great many volunteers.
